The Lighthouse program is led by Matt Court & Grace Buchanan Court. Matt and Grace are both teachers by profession and have a passion for sharing the Gospel of Christ with young people. As the live-in mentors, they provide day to day programming and guidance to student participants.
Program duration
The Lighthouse program has two components: The school-year program runs from September 2009 through April 2010, during which participants must be in full-time attendance at CEGEP or university. Applicants may also start the program in January 2010 if there is space available. We also hope to offer a summer program which would run from May through August 2010, during which participants may be in school or working at a summer job with the intention of returning to CEGEP or university in the fall. Participants may complete either or both of these programs. Although exceptions may be made, normally participation is limited to 12 months total.
Program Fees
The Lighthouse program fee of $300 per month includes accommodation (shared or single room), program materials, and one-on-one mentoring. Participants are expected to share in household chores and program leadership activities. If participants are not part of their school's meals program, they may share in meals at the Lighthouse on a cost-shared basis.
Financial assistance
While normally participants are expected to pay their own way, in extenuating circumstances financial assistance may be available. Enquire for more information.
